Immersion blender

A stick blender that goes into the pot rather than the pot into a jug

Motor on a shaft with a small blade at the end. Soup purees without decanting hot liquid. Mayonnaise and stable dressings come together in the container they will live in. It will not match a countertop blender for smoothness. The whisk and chopper bowl in the box see use about twice.

Who backs it

Sorted by strength of stance

  • Chef and food writer · The Food Lab

A Braun MultiQuick is the stick blender on his list of tools he actually uses. It shares that page with a Breville food processor and a stone molcajete, three ways of breaking things down that he keeps rather than picking between.
