The Golden Circle
Explain why, then how, then what, in that order
Three rings. Why sits at the center, how around it, what on the outside. Most people and companies communicate from the outside in, listing what they do and hoping somebody cares. Sinek's claim is that the ones who move people start at the center and work outward. Day to day it turns into a rewriting exercise for a pitch, a bio or an answer to tell me about yourself. The order changes, not the facts you have to work with.

Author · Start with WHY
Say why before how before what. He demonstrates it on his own biography, giving the same facts in both orders, and says that talking about what he believes is what attracts the people who believe the same thing.
