Multi-input desk monitor

Desk display that takes a computer over USB-C and a console over HDMI

More than one video input on a single screen, with a switch that cycles between them. USB-C carries picture and power down one cable to a laptop or a tablet. HDMI takes the console. Press the switch and the desk swaps between work and a game, with nothing unplugged and no move to another room. Against an Apple display the trade is usually brightness, speaker quality and the loss of keyboard brightness controls.

Who backs it

Sorted by strength of stance

  • Apple writer · founder of MacStories

Rebuilt his desk around one display that takes USB-C from the iPad and HDMI from a console, with a button on the back that cycles the inputs. Finding a monitor that would do both was, he writes, one of the two things that had stopped him using the iPad for everything.
