Inversion table

Padded table that locks the ankles and tips the body upside down

Strap the ankles in, then tilt back until you are hanging head down. The claim is spinal decompression: gravity pulls the vertebrae apart instead of stacking them, which users say leaves the back looser and adds a fraction of height for a short while. Evidence for anything lasting is thin. Most units fold flat against a wall between uses.

  • Bodybuilder · Six-time Classic Physique Mr. Olympia

He bought the inversion table for one reason, he said on his gym tour: to get tall enough for Classic Physique. Use was brief. Three or four weeks out from the 2023 Olympia, then nothing. Asked whether it worked, he said he does not know if it did anything. The table is still in the room.
