Swim spa
Short backyard pool with an adjustable current you swim against on the spot
A propulsion system pushes water down a short tank, so you swim in place against a current you can dial up or down. It fits in a backyard where a 25 meter pool never would, and most units double as a hot tub with jets. Coaches like them for stroke work, since the swimmer stays in one spot and can be filmed through an underwater window. They cost as much as a car.

Training in the swim spa, he says, gave him the best freestyle stroke of his career, because his coach could see details through the water that never showed from the pool deck. These days he gets in for the quiet more than the work. The signature line carries his name and is his own brand with Master Spas.
