Garmin Connect
Garmin's companion app for building workouts and reviewing training data
The phone app that pairs with a Garmin watch. Workouts are built step by step, warm-up through intervals to cool-down, then sent to the watch so the device drives the session instead of the runner doing arithmetic mid-rep. It also stores the history the watch collects: paces, heart rate zones, weekly volume, sleep. Free with the hardware.

Programs sessions in the Garmin Connect app and sends them to the watch, so the day's steps, the rest times and the goal paces are set before he starts running. His company's article calls this his approach to marathon training and credits it with improving the quality of his hard workouts. He was on a Fenix 6 Pro when it was written.
