The Longevity Diet

The 2018 book pairing a daily eating pattern with periodic five-day fasting cycles

The book that took the fasting-mimicking diet to a general audience. One half sets out an everyday pattern, mostly plants with some fish, low in protein and sugar, generous with olive oil and nuts. The other half covers five-day fasting cycles run a few times a year, with thirty recipes at the back. Evidence is argued through what the author calls the five pillars: epidemiology, basic research, clinical trials, centenarian studies and the study of complex systems. It has been translated into 25 languages, and the author proceeds go to his two nonprofits.
