A small microphone that clips to a lapel a few inches below the chin, so speech comes through clearly even in a room with echo. Wired versions run straight into a phone or a recorder. Wireless ones sit on a belt pack and leave a speaker's hands free to move around a stage. Video makers buy one first, because bad audio is the fault no software fixes afterwards.
